Remarkable Symposium 2011
Web Challenge
Welcome to the Remarkable Symposium 2011 Web Challenge.
This is a Web challenge only and is NOT eligible for any awards open to entrants in the National juried exhibition.
Web Challenge prizes will be determined by public voting on line only. (one vote per email address).
This challenge will be a postcard challenge. Size will be A5 - 15cm x 21cm And will be in six parts. To be eligible for the web challenge prize, entrants must complete all six postcards.
Postcard topics will be released on the website on the following dates :
10th December 2009
10th February 2010
10th April 2010
10th June 2010
10th August 2010
10th October 2010
The closing date for entries will be 20th January 2011.
Entries will be displayed at the Remarkable Symposium National Exhibition.
Postcards to be received by the Exhibition organizers by 01st March 2011.

Please enclose a pre paid, self addressed bubble envelope for return of the postcards following the Exhibition.
On line voting will commence on 01 February 2011, closing on 31st March.
Awards will be presented at the Symposium prizegiving.
REMARKABLE SYMPOSIUM 2011 INC WEB CHALLENGE CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Entry is open to ALL Symposium registrants.
2. It is the responsibility of the entrant to obtain permission and pay any fee regarding the use of copyright material. Proof of this permission may be requested.
3. The postcards must be the entrants own work.
4. Submission of entry will be by email in jpg format 6" x 4" at 300 dpi.
Please provide one photo which includes all six postcards, arranged as you would wish them to be displayed, and one photo of a single postcard only.
The images must accurately reflect the appearance of the postcards. Any digital image correction, aside from cropping, should be done only to ensure accuracy, and should not artificially enhance the image.

Do not paste your image files into the message section of the email.
5. Photos of work will be retained for publicity and catalogue use and may be published in electronic or printed format for sale to the public.
6. All work must be labeled on the quilt back with the Challenge Title, the entrant’s name, address, and phone number and must have a Velcro dot – hook side- securely attached at each of the postcards four corners.
7. Remarkable Symposium 2011 Inc, the organizer of Remarkable Symposium 2011, is not liable for any loss, damage, or destruction of exhibition items however such loss, damage, or destruction is caused, including any negligent act or omission, fault or cause. Insurance is the responsibility of the entrant at all times.
8. Please indicate if your work is available for sale. A 15% commission is required on all work sold throughout the exhibition, this to be included in your selling price.
9. An exhibit may be photographed by the general public. This includes digital photography by textile related publications for articles, publicity and archival purposes. All postcards may be digitally photographed for an exhibition CD for sale to the public.
10. Sponsors of an award may request the winning entry be available to call upon for show or photography purposes for up to one year subsequent to the Exhibition.
